Personal Statement of Loyalty to the Magisterium, USCCB and Rome

I wish to note that all posts on this blog or elsewhere under my pen name “Catholicboyrichard” are hereby submitted with every intent to be subject to proper ecclesial authority as a Roman Catholic member of the lay faithful. However…

If the reader finds any posts which unwittingly may not be such, or are questionable in any way whatsoever, please contact me immediately and I will review/remove the post if needed. It is and will always be my highest priority to share only that which is within the clear orthodoxy of the Church, meaning full loyalty to Rome as well as  my local Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis.

The above does not of course apply to reader comments/responses of various positions not made by me, nor of posts which clearly indicate that a variety of opinions will be expressed in them in order to share a variety of views for discussion purposes. No view in any case will be deliberately promoted which is at odds with the recognized Magisterium (the bishops in union with Rome) or which otherwise contradicts Catholic teaching as defined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

I would finish by simply adding that this webpage will aim to always adhere to the guidelines of the USCCB for Facebook, reprinted in full  below, but the same principles apply whether FB or other social media outlets:

United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Facebook Comment Policy

The purpose of this Facebook page is to provide an interactive forum where readers can gather and discuss information about the wide range of issues addressed by the work and mission of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

Followers are encouraged to post questions, comments and concerns, but should remember this is a moderated online discussion hosted by the USCCB.

USCCB appreciates healthy, constructive debate and discussion; that means we ask that comments be kept civil in tone and reflect the charity and respect that marks Christian discourse.

Comments will not be removed simply because they express opinions in disagreement with the USCCB. However, comments that may be deleted include those that contain:

  • Vulgar language
  • Personal attacks/inflammatory remarks against a person or group
  • Content/comments off topic
  • Spam
  • Links to sites that contain offensive material or  attack the bishops and their mission
  • Promotion of services, products, political organizations/agendas
  • Information that is factually incorrect

USCCB reserves the right to remove posters who violate this policy.

Comments left by others on this page do not reflect the views of the USCCB.
